The province this morning is reporting 422 new COVID-19 cases, with three deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 53 new cases since Friday with 36 resolved.
The was one new death, an 85-year-old Aylmer man. The death toll is now 92 since the pandemic began.
There are 12 new cases in Aylmer, five in Bayham, four in St. Thomas and one in Dutton-Dunwich.
There are 95 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 25 in Aylmer, 22 in Woodstock, 10 in Bayham, eight in Norwich, seven in St. Thomas and Tillsonburg, six in Ingersoll, four in SW Oxford, three in Zorra, two in Central Elgin and one in Malahide.
A total of 1,522 cases have been variants of concern with 693 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are eight hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.7 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Sixty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 25 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,519.
A total of 151,610 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 71.2 per cent.
There are 44.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 26.8 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 18.0 cases per 100,000 population and 333.7 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 97 tests Saturday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 15 on Friday.
