The province this morning is reporting 331 new COVID-19 cases, with seven deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting seven new cases with 11 resolved.
There was one new death, a female Elgin county resident in her 80’s, bringing the death toll to 93 since the pandemic began.
There is one new case in Aylmer, Central Elgin and Malahide.
There are 88 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 24 in Aylmer, 22 in Woodstock, nine in Bayham, seven in St. Thomas and Ingersoll, five in Norwich, four in Tillsonburg, three in SW Oxford and Zorra and two in Central Elgin and Malahide.
A total of 1,529 cases have been variants of concern with 700 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are nine hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 36.0 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Sixty of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 26 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,530.
A total of 151,610 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 71.2 per cent.
There are 41.6 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 25.4 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 18.0 cases per 100,000 population and 320.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 66 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 15 on Friday.
