The province this morning is reporting 378 new COVID-19 cases, with five deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 15 new cases with 17 resolved.
There was one new death, a female Elgin county resident in her 70’s, bringing the death toll to 94 since the pandemic began.
There are seven new cases in Aylmer and five in Bayham.
There are 85 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 27 in Aylmer, 17 in Woodstock, 12 in Bayham, seven in Ingersoll, six in St. Thomas, five in Norwich, three in Tillsonburg and two in Central Elgin, Malahide, SW Oxford and Zorra.
A total of 1,530 cases have been variants of concern with 701 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are 10 hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 36.0 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Fifty-six of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 22 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,547.
A total of 152,073 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 71.4 per cent.
There are 40.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 22.9 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 15.4 cases per 100,000 population and 360.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 145 tests Monday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 24.
