While the Southwestern Public Health region continues to struggle to mitigate the rise in COVID-19 cases, our local school boards reported an additional 7 new cases Tuesday.
The Thames Valley District School Board announced 6 new cases, including 2 at Pierre Elliott Trudeau, and a single case each at Elgin Court Public School, Port Burwell Public School, Straffordville Public School and East Elgin Secondary School.

At this time, all schools do remain open and Southwestern Public Health continues to work with close contacts to provide specific testing advice.
According to the most recent update from both boards, there are 20 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across St. Thomas and Elgin, with 5 at Pierre Elliott Trudeau, 4 at Port Burwell Public School, 3 at John Wise Public School, 2 each at Elgin Court Public School and East Elgin Secondary School and a single case each at Davenport Public School, St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School, Kettle Creek Public School and Parkside Collegiate Institute.
