The province this morning is reporting 687 new COVID-19 cases, with three deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 27 new cases, with 33 resolved.
The death toll is 98 since the pandemic began.
There are 12 new cases in St. Thomas, two in Aylmer one each in Bayham and Malahide.
There are 204 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 46 in St. Thomas, 33 in Tillsonburg, 32 in Woodstock, 29 in Aylmer, 18 in Bayham, 10 in Norwich, eight in Ingersoll, seven in Blandford-Blenheim, six in East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra, four in SW Oxford, two in Malahide and Central Elgin and one in West Elgin.
As of today, more than 99 per cent of all cases are of the Delta variant.
There are eight resident cases and two staff cases at Aylmer Retirement Residence in Aylmer and one resident and two staff at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas.
There are 12 hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One hundred and twenty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 42 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 5,068.
A total of 154,602 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 72.6 per cent.
There are 96.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 29.9 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 118.2 cases per 100,000 population and 387.1 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 75 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 23 Friday.
