It’s a true sign that the holiday season is here- fresh cut Christmas trees have started popping up for purchase across St. Thomas/Elgin.
For local Remax agents Cody Hodgins and Damian Steele, making sure those who may not be able to afford such a luxury at this time of year, don’t go without, has been their top priority these past couple of days.
In doing so, Hodgins and Steele came together to purchase 100 fresh cut Christmas trees that have been distributed throughout the community, thanks to support from Geerlinks Home Hardware, Eastwood Housing Corp, and Calvert Tree Farms.
Hodgins says by giving back to the community, the hope is that many more families will be able to spend Christmas around a tree this year.
Hodgins says that the reaction from residents has been very heart warming, with some 15 trees still left to donate.
He adds that anyone in the community who could use a little extra help this holiday season and would benefit from a fresh cut Christmas tree, can contact him directly at 519-859-5504, while supplies last.
