With the first official day of winter taking place just yesterday, the Township of Malahide has high hopes for their new community outdoor ice rink.
Housed at the Malahide Community Place, the volunteer run rink will be open to the public from dawn to dusk each day, once the ice has frozen over.
Chris Cox, Facility Manager at the Township of Malahide says they have had the ice rink kit since 2017, however the timing has never been right.
Although skaters haven’t had the chance to enjoy the addition to Malahide just yet, Cox says winter is just beginning.
Once they are up and running, Cox notes that they will keep residents up to date on their Facebook Page.
A number of rules do need to be followed while skating, including a maximum of 10 people on the ice at a time.
