The return to in person learning has been delayed once again in Ontario.
The Thames Valley and London District School Boards have had to pivot at the last minute, and are letting parents and students know what they can expect over the next few days.
Students at both boards who are current in-person learners will begin with virtual learning on Wednesday, January 5th.
This impacts both elementary and secondary school students, with no change for those currently participating in full-remote learning.
The TVDSB says some school buildings will be open for child care operations and to provide in-person instruction for students with complex special education needs who cannot be accommodated remotely.
“We understand this last-minute change is disappointing for many families and we will work hard to support our students and families as best we can throughout this time,” says Mark Fisher, Director of Education. “At Thames Valley, we are committed to following the direction of the Ministry and our local health units, and hope that by doing so students will be able to return to in-person learning safely and as soon as possible.”
