The province this morning is reporting at least 9,909 new COVID-19 cases with 35 deaths.
A total of 3,630 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 500 in ICU with COVID-related critical illness.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 112 new cases with 249 resolved.
One new death was reported, a resident of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock who was older than 100 years of age. It’s the tenth death reported in four days. The death toll is 127 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 19.5%.
There are 24 new cases in St. Thomas, nine in Aylmer, seven in Central Elgin, six in Dutton/Dunwich and one in Southwold and West Elgin.
There are 1,173 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 363 in Woodstock, 307 in St. Thomas, 109 in Ingersoll, 70 in Aylmer, 68 in Tillsonburg, 52 in Central Elgin, 35 in Zorra, 30 in Norwich and West Elgin, 24 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 22 in Dutton/Dunwich, 19 in SW Oxford, 17 in Blandford-Blenheim, 16 in Bayham, 11 in Southwold and four in Malahide.
There are 26 resident cases and 17 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 16 resident and 24 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and two staff case at Elgin Manor, nine residents and 11 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, four patient and three staff cases at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, 10 resident and three staff cases at Terrace Lodge and five resident and six staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 25 hospitalizations at this time, with eight in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.3 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Seven hundred and forty-three cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 162 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 7,531.
A total of 158,163 residents in the region have had two doses of a vaccine or 72.3 per cent.
There are 535.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 780.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 720.5 cases per 100,000 population and 843.6 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
