The province this morning is reporting at least 7,086 new COVID-19 cases with 38 deaths.
A total of 4,183 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 580 in ICU.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 90 new cases with 152 resolved.
There was one new death, an Oxford man in his 80s. The death toll is 129 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 19.5%.
There are 27 new cases in St. Thomas, 10 in Aylmer, two in West Elgin and Bayham and one in Central Elgin and Dutton/Dunwich.
There are 911 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 279 in Woodstock, 245 in St. Thomas, 70 in Ingersoll, 60 in Aylmer, 52 in Tillsonburg, 42 in Central Elgin, 29 in Norwich, 24 in West Elgin, 23 in Zorra, 22 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 16 in Dutton/Dunwich, 15 in SW Oxford, 13 in Bayham, 10 in Blandford-Blenheim, seven in Southwold and four in Malahide.
There are 37 resident cases and 27 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 31 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and three staff case at Elgin Manor, nine residents and 12 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, five patient and three staff cases at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, 16 resident and six staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 12 residents and four staff case at Metcalfe Gardens and five resident and seven staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 27 hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 32.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Five hundred and seventy-eight are individuals under the age of 50, with 111 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 8,258.
A total of 158,619 residents in the region have had two doses of a vaccine or 72.5 per cent.
There are 416.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 537.8 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 575.0 cases per 100,000 population and 723.1 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
