The province this morning is reporting at least 5,852 new COVID-19 cases with 70 deaths.
A total of 3,645 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 599 in ICU and 366 on ventilators.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 85 new cases with 61 resolved.
There was one new death, an Elgin man in his 70s not linked to an outbreak. The death toll is 137 since the pandemic began. Twenty-four deaths this month alone.
The percent positivity rate in the region has risen to 17.7%.
There are 12 new cases in St. Thomas, 10 in West Elgin, five in Central Elgin, two in Dutton-Dunwich and one each in Aylmer, Malahide and Bayham.
There are 732 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 214 in Woodstock, 197 in St. Thomas, 70 in Tillsonburg, 47 in Aylmer, 37 in Ingersoll, 25 in Zorra and Norwich, 23 in West Elgin, 20 in Central Elgin, 19 in Dutton-Dunwich, 14 in Blandford-Blenheim, 12 in SW Oxford, 11 in Bayham and East Zorra-Tavistock, four in Malahide and three in Southwold.
There are 48 resident cases and 34 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 33 staff cases at Valleyview, nine residents and 12 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, 18 resident and five staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 24 residents and seven staff cases at Metcalfe Gardens, 12 resident and 13 staff cases at Elgin Manor and seven resident and seven staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 28 hospitalizations at this time, with 10 in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 32.0 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 9,111.
A total of 85,522 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.3 per cent.
There are 334.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 408.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 462.3cases per 100,000 population and 566.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
