As a result of recently lifted provincial restriction, the Thames Valley District School Board has announced that schools will now remain open during inclement weather events, unless otherwise specified.
The Ministry of Education has given schools boards approval to mix cohorts in emergency situations, including inclement weather days, to ensure supervision and keep schools open.
Previously, heavily bused schools within the board, would close when bus route cancellations occurred.
The TVDSB notes that is not an expectation that students attend school on inclement weather days and stress it would not negatively affect attendance records if they can not make in it on inclement weather days.
