On Monday, Southwestern Public Health reported at least 71 new COVID-19 cases since their update Friday, with 92 resolved.
The death toll is 149 since the pandemic began.
There are 24 new cases in St. Thomas, four in Aylmer, two in Dutton-Dunwich and one in Central Elgin.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 11.7 %.
There are 239 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 65 in St. Thomas, 61 in Woodstock, 19 in Tillsonburg, 14 in Ingersoll, 13 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 12 in Norwich, nine in West Elgin, eight in Aylmer and Blandford-Blenheim, seven in Central Elgin, six in Dutton-Dunwich, SW Oxford and Zorra, three in Bayham and one in Malahide and Southwold.
There are no cases in long-term care or retirement facilities in the health unit’s coverage area.
There are eight hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 10,824.
A total of 96,389 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 58.1 per cent.
There are 109.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 145.5 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 152.5 cases per 100,000 population and 96.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
