Sandra Datars Bere took over the role of City Manager for St. Thomas in January of 2022. While you may have heard her voice or name mentioned on air, myFM hasn’t had the chance to sit down and talk with Datars Bere about her new role. Until now!
With it being International Women’s Day, we couldn’t think of a better day to reintroduce her to the city.
For those not familiar, Datars Bere served as the city’s director of social services from 2006 through 2010, before being appointed CAO in Bruce County.
She notes how exciting it is to be back in St. Thomas.
With a large responsibility list, Datars Bere highlights the main role of the city manager here in St. Thomas.
And in that role, Datars Bere joins a number of women working to better St. Thomas as a whole.
She also points to the endless list of women working collaboratively with our city.
She adds, the city will continue to celebrate the amazing work that the women of St. Thomas do for our community.
The city of St. Thomas appointed Datars Bere as city manager, following the retirement last month of outgoing city manager Wendell Graves.
