In their update from Monday, Southwestern Public Health reported at least 61 new COVID-19 cases since Friday with 70 resolved.
There was one new death, a St. Thomas man in his 60s. The death total is now 152 since the pandemic began.
There are 16 new cases in St. Thomas, three in West Elgin, two in Aylmer and Dutton-Dunwich, one in Central Elgin, Malahide and Southwold.
The percent positivity rate in the region has dropped to 10.4 %.
There are 221 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 57 in St. Thomas, 54 in Woodstock, 25 in Ingersoll, 13 in Aylmer and Tillsonburg, 10 in Zorra, eight in Central Elgin and Norwich, six in East Zorra-Tavistock and SW Oxford, five in Bayham, four in Dutton-Dunwich, West Elgin and Blandford-Blenheim, three in Malahide and one in Southwold.
There are eight resident cases and three staff case at Chartwell Oxford Gardens in Woodstock.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 11,147.
A total of 97,626 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 58.6 per cent.
There are 101.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 125.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 133.8 cases per 100,000 population and 156.7 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
