A 34 year old male is facing a number of charges after what Aylmer Police describe as a verbal argument turn physical.
On Friday, officers were called to a domestic dispute on Talbot St. West for a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation when the male punched a 29 year old female in the back of the head.
He then physically removed the female from the residence, locking the door with an 8 year old female and a 9 year old male still inside. Police note that during the incident, the male also caused damage to a window screen in the home.
While speaking to police, the male continued to be belligerent and challenged the officers while holding on to a machete.
Aylmer Police were able to de-escalate the situation and have charged the male with Spousal Assault, Assault, 2 counts of Forcible Confinement – child under 16 years, Mischief Under $5000 and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
