It’s a big step toward returning to the days of pre-pandemic travel as vaccinated travellers can now enter Canada without a COVID-19 test.
The new regulations, which came into effect Friday, only apply to those who are considered fully vaccinated, meaning testing and quarantine requirement will still apply to those not fully vaccinated. This includes proof of a negative molecular test upon arrival.
Travelers returning to Canada, regardless of vaccination status are still required to fill out the ArriveCAN App before returning home.
It is noted that individuals could still be randomly tested when they arrive and Health Canada requires anyone coming from outside the country to wear a mask in public for 14 days.
Canada Border Services encourage everyone to check if you are eligible to cross the border before traveling.
