The St. Thomas Stars closed out the regular season Sunday with a convincing 4-0 win home over the cellar-dwelling Sarnia Legionnaires.
Ryan Cooper led the way with a three-point evening including his fourth and fifth goals of the season.
Patterson MacNair added a single and Jordan Medeiros – who spent the season with the Port Stanley Sailors of the Provincial Junior Hockey League – netted his first goal in a St. Thomas uniform to go along with an assist.
He came up to the club last week and dressed against Komoka and Chatham.
Tyler Roberts picked up the shutout, his first and the only clean sheet for a Stars’ netminder all season.
The Stars open the first round of the playoffs Wednesday night in London against the Nationals. Game 2 is Friday at the Joe Thornton Community Centre and then back in London for Game 3 Saturday night.
myFM will have all of the Game 1 action with Chris Soares beginning at 6:50 p.m.
