It’s been a season of uncertainty for the St. Thomas Junior B Stars, who get ready to open up the first round of the GOJHL playoffs tonight.
After dealing with trades early on and cancelled/postponed games as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, a chance at post season glory is just what the Stars will need to power them to victory.
While coaching staff and management note the struggles the first half of the season brought, Owner and General Manager Joe Daniels says they’ve seen a completely different team the past month.
Head Coach Rob Coutts refers to it as “a tale of 2 seasons.”
Finishing the season off in the 7 spot, the Stars will take on 2nd place London beginning Wednesday.
Daniels notes the excitement for the matchup.
He adds that while the Nationals have a high-powered offence, the Stars will utilize their own secret weapon.
As noted, the Stars open the first round of the playoffs Wednesday night in London at the Western Fair Sports Complex, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. Game 2 goes Friday at the Joe Thornton Community Centre and then back in London for Game 3 Saturday night.
Play by play announcer Chris Soares will bring you all the road game coverage this round of the playoffs, beginning at 6:50 p.m. on 94.1 myFM.
