Although the heavy rain we experienced yesterday washed out the planned Emergency Preparedness week event hosted by the Salvation Army St. Thomas Citadel, the organization hopes to try again today.
As a way to highlight the importance of the week and the work they do locally, the special event will give attendees the chance to learn how to better prepare of an emergency, participate in tours of emergency response vehicles and take part in a free BBQ.
The Salvation Army’s Community Response Unit will be on hand, as well as vehicles from the St. Thomas Police, St. Thomas Fire Department and Medavie EMS.
The event will take place in the parking lot of the Salvation Army St. Thomas Citadel at 380 Elm Street from 5 to 7 p.m.
