A new program space utilized by Fresh Start Support Services will see its doors open for the first time this Saturday and the community is invited to take part in the celebration.
The open house, running from 8 a.m. to noon will see the debut of ‘the Haven’, a welcomed new addition to Fresh Start as Executive Director Karen Schouten explains.
Schouten notes that while parents tend to be a safe haven for their children, Fresh Start wants to give families that same sense of security, hence the name of the new space.
The Haven will provide parents with a space for their children to play and learn while they connect with other local parents.
Schouten says they have a number of activities planned for the open house on Saturday, which also happens to fall on Mother’s Day weekend.
She adds that refreshments and snacks will be served at the open house, with the first 30 moms set to receive a Mother’s Day package full of items from local businesses.
