Southwestern Public Health reported at least 41 new COVID-19 cases since Friday with 117 resolved.
There was one new death, a female resident of Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock in her 80s. The death total is 168 since the pandemic began.
Seven new cases were reported in St. Thomas, three in Aylmer and West Elgin and one in Dutton-Duniwich.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 8.43%.
There are 123 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 29 in St. Thomas, 26 in Woodstock, 18 in Ingersoll, 14 in Tillsonburg, seven in Aylmer, six in SW Oxford, five in Norwich, four in West Elgin and East Zorra-Tavistock, three in Central Elgin, two in Bayham and Dutton-Dunwich and one each in Malahide, Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
There are 22 resident and 10 staff cases at Extendicare in Port Stanley, two resident cases at Goodness Retirement Living in St. Thomas, 63 resident and 21 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock, nine resident and five staff cases at Elgin Manor, 21 resident and three staff cases at Maples Home in Tavistock, seven resident and six staff cases at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll, three resident and and one staff case at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock and five patient cases at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
There are six hospitalizations at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,562.
A total of 101,390 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 54.1 per cent.
There are 56.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 73.1 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 68.1 cases per 100,000 population and 84.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
