Canada Day celebrations in St. Thomas will once again close out in light-up-the-sky fashion.
Canada Day celebrations in 2020 were restricted to virtual in St. Thomas, while last year Mayor Joe Preston encouraged residents to celebrate in their own fashion.
Preston confirmed to myFM a dazzling fireworks display will be held in Pinafore Park on July 1 to help recognize this country’s birthday.
Preston added while no formal events are scheduled during the day, people are encouraged to enjoy an afternoon in the park with family and friends prior to taking in the the spectacular finale that evening.
Preston reminds those planning to attend that there will be limited parking inside Pinafore, however off-site parking may prove more convenient.
He explained vehicles in the park will be held back until pedestrians safely exit the venue. This will result in delays for those who choose to bring their vehicles into the park.
