Southwestern Public Health reported at least 20 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday with 14 resolved.
The death total is 169 since the pandemic began.
The per cent positivity rate in the region has dropped to 6.76 per cent.
There are 89 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 24 in St. Thomas, 22 in Woodstock, 11 in Ingersoll, six in West Elgin, four in Aylmer, Norwich and Tillsonburg, three in Zorra, two in Central Elgin, Dutton-Dunwich and East Zorra-Tavistock and one each in Bayham, Southwold, Malahide, Blandford-Blenheim and SW Oxford.
There are nine resident and seven staff cases at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll and 11 resident cases at Seasons Retirement Home in St. Thomas.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.7 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,683.
A total of 18,665 residents in the region have had four doses of a vaccine or 32.9 per cent of those ages 60+.
There are 40.7 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 74.4 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 56.3 cases per 100,000 population and 48.2 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
