As we get set to welcome the summer season, the city is reminding residents about unauthorized activities at Lake Margaret.
The City of St. Thomas note that there has already been an increase in swimming and fishing around the lake, both of which are not permitted at this time.
Swimming in Lake Margaret at any time of year is a no go, with fishing opening on the lake as of June 26th.
Under Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry regulations, no fishing is permitted from November 30th to the fourth Saturday in June each year.
Both No Swimming and No fishing signs are up, with City Bylaw enforcement officers along with the Ministry of Natural resources also doing regular patrols.
You are reminded that non-motorized, recreational boating on Lake Margaret is permitted.
