The Aylmer Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identify a suspect in relation to a local fraud case.
Police were alerted about a phone call to a 67 year old residents on Thursday, claiming to be coming from their grandson who needed $10,000 to be bailed out of jail.
A second male on the phone call claimed to be a police officer and directed the resident to withdraw the money in large denominations and then meet to hand over the money.
The complainant realized this was a scam and did not comply.
Unfortunately, a second Aylmer resident was contacted the same day and the same conversation took place.
The 79 year old did not realize this was scam, withdrew $10,000 and met a male to turn over the money.
