There will be a noticeable military presence in Port Stanley tomorrow through Friday.
Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 31 Combat Engineer Regiment (The Elgins) will conduct convoy and assault boat training in the Port Stanley area.
During this period, there will be military vehicles on Sunset Drive and local roads throughout Port Stanley and in the vicinity of Little Beach.
On Thursday, there will be soldiers in inflatable boats on Kettle Creek and Lake Erie.
This training is being conducted to maintain and further develop the skills of Canadian Army Reserve soldiers in convoy and boating operations, and to test discipline, safety and effectiveness while operating specific equipment platforms.
All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience and no areas will be closed to the public during this training. Participating soldiers will not carry weapons or ammunition.
All of the soldiers will be practicing enhanced Force Health Protection Measures based on, and in addition to Public Health guidelines.
