A total of 39 motorists were charged with impaired driving, up from 24 last year.
The results from the Labour Day long weekend traffic campaign with 2021 figures are in parentheses.
- Impaired Driving: 39 (24)

- Distracted/Inattentive Driving: 9 (16)
- Failure to Wear a Seat Belt: 62 (27)
Police remind motorists so far this year, 36 people have died on OPP-patrolled roads in seat belt-related fatal crashes across the province. In the past 10 years, 542 people have died in seat belt-related fatal collisions in Ontario.
Police also advise that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.
