Firefighters responded to reports of a kitchen fire at a Barwick Street home just before 2 p.m. Thursday.
The homeowner escaped safely with no injuries and firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly.
Damage is estimated to be around $300,000 and the cause is still under investigation.
