A 30-year partnership will be celebrated Wednesday afternoon with a tree plant at St. Thomas Christian School.
The event, hosted by Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre and Tree Canada, will help commemorate National Tree Day.
It’s part of the Home Grown: 30 years of planting at Home campaign.
This is the sixth year Geerlinks has participated in the project. Since 1991, Home Hardware dealers have planted over 30,000 trees at schools, community parks, conservation areas, and in other spaces.
“We look forward to partnering with another generation of students this year to share our passion for planting trees and beautifying the community,” said John Hart, Sales Associate, Geerlinks Home Hardware Building Centre.
Nicole Hurtubise, CEO, Tree Canada added “The impact our partnership with Home Hardware has had across so many Canadian communities is immeasurable. Not only has it been a catalyst to getting so many kids and community members involved in beautifying their communities, it also inspired people and organizations within our network to get involved.”
The tree plant begins a 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Christian School, 77 Fairview Avenue.
