The inaugural Summer Harvest Festival kicked off in colourful fashion this morning in Pinafore Park featuring a couple of dancers from Indigenous Performers of Southwestern Ontario.
It was an appropriate introduction to the clean and green, end-of-summer celebration offering a weekend of music, food and attractions.
Councillor Steve Wookey officially opened the event on behalf of the city.
There truly is something for everyone at the three-day event.
In addition to great music, food and activities, how about a cosplay contest, silent disco, car show, vendors market, kids and seniors programming to name a few.
Wookey paid tribute to the organizers, Good Vibes Community Association and partners.
It’s Nostalgia Night on the main stage Friday evening featuring Yvonne Way & The Riffs, Beatlemania Revisited, Curtis LaBelle and Dust n Bones, a Guns n Roses tribute.
What better way to bid farewell to a passing season than to gather together with friends, neighbours and family to celebrate the bounty of summer.
Plenty of free parking at Memorial Arena.
