It’s being called a time for reflection and learning over the noon-hour today at city hall.
A ceremony is to be held to honour Orange Shirt Day with a land acknowledgement, flag raising and formal dedication of the seven feathers crosswalk.
Mayor Joe Preston says it is about learning what happened in the past and remembering the survivors and victims of Canada’s residential schools.
He adds that it’s important that people of all ages are involved in this day.
