Port Stanley’s King George VI Lift Bridge will undergo day-long maintenance Sunday, October 16th. The span will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from 9am until 9pm.
Elgin County Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Brian Lima, tells us it’s routine upkeep following the recent extensive work on the bridge.
Lima explains the work that will be undertaken on Sunday.
All vehicle and pedestrian traffic will have to detour Sunday.
Lima who’s the county’s General Manager of Engineering, Planning, Enterprise tells myFM this weekend’s maintenance is a necessary step to ensure the King George bridge has a long life ahead of it.
