A large weather system is expected to make its way through Ontario on Thursday.
While much of Ontario could see a mix between freezing rain and snow – making for a tough travel day – St. Thomas is expected to see mostly rain through the day.
A special weather statement has been issued for St. Thomas and Elgin County warning of strong winds up to 80km/hr early Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon.
A strong low pressure system is expected to bring rain beginning early Thursday morning. We could see between 15-20mm before the end of the day. A mix of rain & snow, and even possibly freezing rain is possible for Thursday evening in St. Thomas. Our high on Thursday is expected to stay above freezing for much of the day.
However, in areas just north and east of St. Thomas, freezing rain and snow is possible for much of the day. If you plan on travelling out of town, keep an eye on updated forecasts and highway conditions as the path and type of accumulation expected is still very much uncertain.
