Aylmer Police Service in Barrie on Wednesday, January 4th for the funeral of a fallen OPP officer.
A funeral was held Wednesday morning for an OPP officer shot and killed in an ambush last week near Hagersville. Hundreds of officers from across the province – including St. Thomas and Aylmer – joined the family of 28-year-old Constable Greg Pierzchala for the funeral in his hometown of Barrie. Pierzchala was described as someone who enjoyed nature, was a fan of art, excelled at his job as a new police officer and above all, loved protecting his family and the communities he served.
