Ontario hospitals say they’re concerned about the poaching of staff now that private surgical centres will be used to address the backlog in the province.
The head of the Ontario Hospital Association says there are plenty of risks to the new model of health care announced this week by Premier Doug Ford.
Anthony Dale says hospitals should not lose nurses and doctors to a new system of private clinics used by the government.
He adds the new model of care will take a ton of work and will present many risks along the way.
The Progressive Conservative government says there will be safeguards in place to prevent hospital staff from being poached by the new private surgical centres.
