The YWCA Women’s Day is all about supporting and empowering women.
And, this year’s keynote speaker epitomizes those goals.
Safia Siddiqi is a human rights activist, poet and former Afghanistan parliamentarian.
Melissa Kempf, YWCA communications office manager tells myFM Siddiqi message on March 4 will focus on perseverance.
She has fought for equality for women throughout her life and Siddiqi believes women can do anything through continued learning and sharing.
Kempf says Siddiqi’s message will inspire.
She is also a poet with two dozen internationally published books to her credit.
The takeaway message from her story will be nothing short of empowering, notes Kempf.
YWCA Women’s Day takes place March 4 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Seniors’ Centre.
