With the Family Day holiday coming up on Monday, here’s what’s open and closed in St. Thomas and Elgin county.
All municipal buildings and offices in both St. Thomas and Elgin county will be closed. The post office, however, will be open regular hours and there will be mail service.
All banks will be closed along with grocery stores including Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart, Metro, FreshCo, Foodbasics, Foodland and M&M Food Market.
Both the Beer Store and the LCBO will be closed on Family Day.
Briwood Farm Market will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., with Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street operating from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Lynhurst Esso will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. for beer and alcohol sales.
The Elgin County Heritage Centre will be open Family Day for the launch of their Cycling: An Unspoken History exhibit. Hours Monday are 1 until 4 p.m.
The province is offering free fishing this Saturday through Monday without having to purchase a licence or carry an Outdoors Card. There are family fishing events planned across the province, or you can plan your own family event and get a free fishing package by visiting ontariofamilyfishing.com.
