A 44-year-old St. Thomas man is the latest victim of a phone scam.
He is out $3,400 after responding to a phone call from a person claiming to be from his bank’s anti-fraud department.
He agreed to provide access codes to his account and money was transferred without his consent.
St. Thomas Police remind residents to be cautious if you receive a phone call or text message related to financial transactions. And, to contact the numbers provided on the reverse of your cards or on the institution’s website(s) should you be contacted over the phone or via email and text.
