Have you got a favourite spot in the city that could do with a little TLC?
Why not begin with a litter cleanup this Saturday, Earth Day. Kala Herring-Geelen is making it easy with her Rail City All City Clean-up in partnership with the City of St. Thomas and the Elgin County Railway Museum.
It begins with pinpointing your clean-up location, advises Herring-Geelen.
Garbage bags and gloves will be available at the museum.
Not only will you be doing your part for the environment you perhaps could walk away with a prize, explains Herring-Geelen.
All you have to do is submit your clean-up photos.
The event runs 1 until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Ahe figures city residents could probably pick up enough litter to fill a railway car.
When your bags are full, bring them back to the museum and ring a train bell to celebrate.
To register for Saturday’s clean-up email Kala Herring-Geelen at kalamoonchild@hotmail.com.
She is a member of the Canadian Conservation Corps and is currently completing her final stage, which involved designing and implementing an environmentally focussed project in her home community.
