An advocacy group for Ontario hospices say the province needs to increase their annual funding.
Fifty-three million dollars provided by the province covers 60 per cent of hospice services, while the remaining costs come from private donors.

A press secretary for Ontario’s Ministry of Health says that last year, Ontario announced a three-year, one-billion-dollar investment to expand home care services but didn’t specify how much would go towards hospices and bereavement providers.
Work on Hospice of Elgin, to be located adjacent to Waterworks Park, is expected to begin later this year.
