Thanks to the combined effort of Elgin OPP and the St. Thomas Police, three individuals have been arrested following a theft and subsequent fail to remain collision in Port Stanley Saturday.
Around 3:40 p.m. the OPP were called to a business on Bridge Street for the reported theft, where two of the individuals attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Officers did locate them a short distance away, while the third suspect fled the scene in a passenger vehicle, colliding with a parked car in the process.
The involved vehicle was later located, with the lone occupant taken into custody by members of the St. Thomas Police Service and surrendered to Elgin OPP.
A 19 year old, 17 year old and 15 year old, all from London have been charged.

As a result of the investigation, Alan Acebo, 19-year-old of London, Ontario was charged with:
- Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting
- Failure to stop after accident
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 6.
Additionally, a 17-year-old of London, Ontario was charged with:
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting
Also, a 15-year-old of London, Ontario was charged with:
- Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting
The youth accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 7.
