CMHA's 110 Centre Street location
Mental health has always been a very important, but also stigmatized issue.
Coming up May 1st to 7th is Mental Health Week, where local agencies look to shine a light on the issue in an effort to promote understanding and acceptance.
Sandra McCabe, Regional Director with CMHA for Elgin and West Middlesex explains further.
Each year during Mental Health Week, CMHA looks to highlight one key theme. For 2023, McCabe notes that story telling will be the focus.
And as McCabe points out, mental health affects us all.
McCabe adds that without community support, the work they do just wouldn’t be possible.
Locally, CMHA is available for walk in and crisis support from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday at 110 Centre Street.
Individuals in immediate crisis can call or text 519-433-2023 for 24/7 supports.
Additionally, information on their services can be found at CMHATV.ca.
