As Mental Health week continues, a new online addictions resource to support young people aged 12-24 who may have substance and behavioral addictions concerns is now available to residents.
Crossing Bridges is a partnership between Canadian Mental Health Association branches, and both the Thames Valley and Huron Perth Addiction and Mental Health Services.
At CrossingBridges.ca, young people can connect virtually with an addictions counsellor, get information about substance use and behavioural addictions, and find addictions services and supports.
Organizers say the program creates a safe space for youth where they can reflect on and process their thoughts and feelings without judgment.
The team’s addictions counsellors are registered social workers or social service workers with a specialization in working with young people. They will customize a support plan based on each individual’s goals.
