Police were called to the scene around 10:30 a.m., where the St. Thomas Fire Department had already contained and extinguished the fire.
However, an ongoing dispute between two parties resulted in damage to a vehicle and the accused fleeing the area.
A brief foot chase took place before the accused was successfully apprehended.
As a result, the 43 year old St. Thomas resident will be charged with One count Mischief, One count Arson and One count Assault with a weapon.
Police say no injuries were reported from the scene of the fire.
