St. Thomas Police Chief and Deputy Chief to be officially sworn in this morning

The community’s willingness to trust the police depends on whether they believe our actions reflect their values.

That’s the message from St. Thomas Police Chief Marc Roskamp who will assume command of the service in an official ceremony later this morning at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.

In a conversation this week with myFM, he added, every interaction with a member of the public is an opportunity to enhance police legitimacy.

The ceremony will also see the swearing in of new Deputy Chief Scott Barnes, who takes over for Roskamp following his promotion to Chief.
