In honour of the nearly 11,000 dedicated paramedics across the province, Ontario is celebrating Paramedic Services Week running through May 27th.
The theme for this year will focus on “Diversity in Paramedicine – The Patient. The Provider. The Profession.” and highlights the need to address the complexities and opportunities related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the profession and local communities.
The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs and local paramedic services have spent the week raising awareness and engaging in initiatives to help provide a platform for diverse voices to be heard and to foster a greater understanding of what inclusively and cultural competence looks like within paramedicine.
Locally, we’d like to thank the dedicated members at Elgin St. Thomas EMS for the work they do for our community!
