A new course being offered at Fanshawe College will cover diverse physical and verbal self-defence techniques for women.
The Women’s Safety and Self Defence course will teach participants awareness and avoidance of threatening situations and will capture the theory and key basic practical components.
John Griffiths, Manager of Career and Employment Services says there is a limit to the number of women who can register for the course that begins June 29.
He tells myFM how the course came together at the St. Thomas Elgin Regional Campus.
The course will run Thursday evenings from June 29 until July 13.
Griffiths says they have already received some pretty solid responses.
The course will be offered at the St. Thomas-Elgin Regional Campus and more information is available at https://www.fanshawec.ca/programs-and-courses/ce-courses/hlth-1309-womens-safety-self-defence
