The city of St. Thomas showed up and showed out for the 2023 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s!
It was a very big day for the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners, as walks took place in St. Thomas, London, Tillsonburgh and Woodstock late last month, with over $283,000 raised throughout.
An increase in funds raised last year and as Leslie Rand, Director of Development with the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners notes, donations are still coming!
It’s the largest fundraiser of the year for our local Alzheimer Society, who support individuals living with dementia and their care partners, across Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford Counties. But as Rand points out, it’s about more than just the dollars being raised.
And it was a sight to see with roughly 200 walkers raising over $61,000 through the event hosted at Pinafore Park. Rand adds that they also received support from some local businesses the day of, including the Ice Box and Geerlinks Homeware.
All money raised locally will stay local and support dementia programs and services offered by the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
