With local farmers markets now in full swing, you may be wondering what’s being grown in the area that could make its way onto your plate.
It’s Local Food Week, and Mercedes Unwin, Program and Resource Manager at non-profit educational group AgScape says that spending your hard earned dollars close by when it comes to food, does more than support the local economy.
She also notes that there are a number ways you can eat local that you may not be considering,
Unwin adds that scientific advances are responsible for a general increase in availability when it comes to local offerings.
